Ex rings me late at late

So me and my gf split up a few months ago. It was her decision. She said after that she wanted to remain friends in the future. She lives quite far away so I don't bump into her and havent seen her since. Over the last month or two, she has been ringing me quite a bit (about once or twice a week) and I've got the odd text from her saying she wants to talk as friends and asking how are things. I've replied that I don't want to talk to her right now but she still rings me, sometimes on a private number, but I know its her. I've ignored all her calls. She also has a new boyfriend. Recently she has been ringing me quite late at night (between 11 and 12). I know she's not drunk when she does this as she never really drinks and it is on a work night. She also is normally in bed by 11. What I don't get is: 1) Why she keeps ringing me when I've ignored all her calls and have said that I don't want to speak to her. 2) Why so late at night? I don't get that. She has a bf. I'm sure he won't be happy that she has been ringing her ex late at night. Who rings someone as a friend that late at night? Does anyone have a clue why she is doing this? She seems desperate to talk to me, does she want to be more than friends? And why so late at night? That's what I don't get. Thanks in advance.
