| Any/all advice/tips is welcome: "Jane," a woman I used to work with, invited me to live in her home with her partner "Susan," so I could catch up on my bills. They have been renting this house from Jane's cousin for at least two years. I moved in mid-January, and advised Jane my plan was to stay for at least one year. I also advised Jane I was not living anywhere over 30 minutes away (my vehicle is a near-antique). Jane assured me she understood and agreed. I found out today — from Susan — that not only is the lease up May 31st, they're not renewing. They're moving to a townhome an hour away, and are taking at least one new pet with them. (My pet does not get along with theirs.) They've been going on "long drives" for at least a month and a half, "just to talk." I have a feeling they've been looking at homes all that time. I do have a new place already, thankfully. (I'm also pretty angry about this .... but I will get over it and move on.) Here's my question: If I need to do a roommate situation in the future, what can I do to prevent such a thing from happening? Not every roommate is this much of a turd .... is s/he? | |||
