Was on a bike ride....

I hope people don't think I'm a troll, I'm jsut looking for why, when I was on a bike ride, on my way home, when I was on the bike path, I noticed two girls around my age (17) on the other side of the road, and they were both staring at me, whilst talking, and walking as I was riding. They kept staring at me, then, I think there friends walking towards them, were staring at me as well??? I don't think any of them knew me, but, it unsettled me. I just carried on my journey and went home, not making eye contact. What was that all about? please explain.
