Polyamory is the practise of being romantically (or have the potential to be) involved with more than one person at once.
I only found out about this recently through going along with a friend at uni to Fetsoc, where a lot of people were dating more than one person. For example, a good friend of mine was dating both another boy and a girl, and the girl was dating another boy who had nothing to do with the other two. Polyamory is pretty common in the kinky world, I believe.
At first it seemed bizarre as of course in our society it's very much a 'two people in a relationship' attitude, but it works very well for the people I know. They say that yes, they still experience jealousy, but ultimately they don't own the other person and it's better for a healthy relationship as then two people don't have to be everything the other person needs.
Now I'm sort of open to the idea of trying polyamory. I mean, I'm pretty sexually open and wouldn't care if my partner slept with other people, but I dunno if I could deal with them being emotionally involved with someone else, but nonetheless it's something that intrigues me :D
So yeah, just wondered if anyone here has ever been involved in a polyamorous relationship or, if not, do you think you could do it?
