Can I go back to him?

I was with this boy for a year when we where 15 and 16, we always said we would have sex when I turned 16 but we never made it to that point. two years later, we are both still virgins, good friends and afraid to go to university and lose it to the wrong person on some sort of one night stand. Should I suggest that we lose it together as friends? or will that bring back memories and we end up in the relationship that obviously didn't work in the first place. What do I do?
