Gay rights and homophobia Q&A: Stonewall's Wes Streeting at 4pm on 5 September

Have you experienced or noticed homophobia taking place at your school, college or university?

Most people probably have. Research carried out by lesbian, gay and bisexual rights charity Stonewall in 2012 showed that one in five college students had experienced homophobic bullying. Almost all of them had heard the use of homophobic language.

On Thursday 5 September we'll be joined by Wes Streeting, the lead on Stonewall's 'Education for All' campaign to tackle homophobia in schools. Wes' previous experience includes a stint as chief executive of the Helena Kennedy Foundation, an educational charity that promotes access to higher education to students from further education colleges through bursaries, mentoring and work placements. He is also a Labour councillor in the London Borough of Redbridge and is a former NUS national president.

Wes will be live on The Student Room from 4pm on Thursday 5 September. If you have any questions on lesbian, gay and bisexual rights or issues around homophobia, add them below and join in the conversation.
