| I'm not much of a drinker anymore, and pretty much been drinking red wine as my choice of drink. I've known a few people who are into scotch - especially single malt - so I recently purchased a small bottle of the 12 year Glenfiddich in a duty free store recently on my travels. When I first tasted it, I thought it was rather harsh. But as I try it a little more, I'm getting used to it and it does taste alright. But I still think the Glenfiddich 12 year single malt is harsh. Other parts of the web have confirmed my suspicions. I'll definitely finish this bottle and will probably by a larger bottle. I'm going to do some research to see if Glenfiddich is for me though. Right now I'm thinking of trying the Glenlivet 15 year or giving Glenfiddich 15 year a try. I've been drinking the scotch on the rocks, allowing a few minutes for the ice to make the scotch colder plus melt a little. Right now I am restricting myself to 1 drink a week on the weekends. For you scotch drinkers, what do you prefer? I've heard people advocate for Johnnie Walker black label over the single malt scotches. Also, I know both scotches labels I'm exploring are highland varieties. Anyone prefer the smokier (peatier?) taste of the other scotch regions? Anyone think that single malt is the only way to go? Let me know your thoughts. | |||
