Does this article about teen abuse ring true?

I'm always a little wary of articles about teenagers that have been written by parents - but this one on abusive relationships raises some interesting points (including comments from Jo at AVA, who you can talk to on our relationship abuse forum).

Some of the main points expressed in the article:

"up to 40 per cent of teens are in some kind of abusive relationship, even if they don't realise it"

"Abuse will often begin when a boy demands a sexually explicit "selfie" taken on a girl's phone"

"Boys' attitudes are also hugely influenced by pornography. The average age for a boy to start looking at porn on the internet is 11"

"parents need to talk much more to their children about sex and relationships, but that often we give off the signal that we're uncomfortable with the subject."
