Trouble finding anyone I REALLY like at Uni

The title says it all really but I've been here for a term and a bit now and honestly everyone I find just are no way near as sound as the people back from home. They either:
1. Like to go out but love to drink way too much and have no personality when sober.
2. Are social and have a personality but sleep way too much in the day when I'm awake so I'm bored with nothing to do.
3. Hidden gems I'm yet to find.

I'm not in a society so that could definitely be a factor here but also I'm not that sporty and most of the good sports clubs require you to have gone to try outs at the beginning of term and now you can't join. And I really hate the sound of having specifically society friends because most will be in different positions to you, they might be leaving Uni the next year or I dunno stuff like that. Just for me so far, despite meeting loads of people and having a decent friend group, I just feel it's very lonely because no-one quite clicks like me and my pals from back home did.

Also another problem is I'm not really friends with my flatmates and I befriended another flat and we get on but I'm always the one to go their flat... or contact them... It's not that they don't like me because I know they do, they always say they love me etc. but it's just annoying because I'm on the bottom floor and they're all on the same floor and I always have to go to them only one of them comes to see me because he's on my course. It's like having a girl you like, you're always the one to initiate conversations and after a while it feels like you're being a biatch.
