Hooked up once with a male friend (initiated by him). Lost contact but we've recently moved back to the same village and met up a few times; he initiated contact, took me to meet his sister and her boyfriend, complimented me, keeps touching me (hand on arm, leg, etc etc - just the way guys do when they're interested). He's met some of my female friends who assured me he didn't touch them (i.e. isn't just one of those guys who flirts with everyone). My friends were convinced he was into me, from what they'd observed.
But unprompted the other day he said he wanted to carry on hanging out but just as friends (said he needed space to sort his life out, find a job etc). But then the touching, the arm grabbing, the looking deep into my eyes etc continues. What is going on? Actions and words don't seem to be matching up here.
