I have been told that I'm a pretty blunt and honest person and people say they like this about me. I have come to discover, over the years, that people only really value honesty in theory but when it's actually applied to them, they hate It. I chose to be honest simply because I find it's the simplest way of life. I never get caught out or off guard over anything I say because what I say is what I believe. I would however have been inclined to change my ways if I thought they way I acted offended people.
People often say to me they prefer me to be honest with them, but the second I am, I am perceived to be rude because others would rather sugar coat and lie to the person rather than telling the truth. This means I am often seen as the bad guy. I personally like when people are honest with me because it usually is beneficial to my situation, I am however unsure whether everyone is like this. So basically my question is: do you always prefer the truth or would you like people to lie to you?
