Background information, I guess.
We're both 3rd years at university, he's an international student from Korea, and I from Middlesborough. Anyway.
We've been steadily dating since October of our first year, and things have been going great. My parents love him to bits, and I can't see myself with anybody else.
Anyway, over Christmas, I flew to Korea with him to meet his parents for the first time and it was just...awful. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't win them over, and overheard them talking about how I wasn't fit for their son. Hell, he's been threatened with being unwelcome into his house unless he finds someone more suitable.
I don't know what to do. Whilst I could deal with them hating me, much to my dismay, for them to turn their back on their own son just for dating a girl they didn't approve of makes me want to cry. 'Cause then I'm ruining someone I well and truly care for.
Is this a case of 'if you love them, let them go?'
