Hey Guys- Advice on best way to make an impression first time seeing/speaking to ex?

Split up with my boyfriend of a year this week, mutual decision really although frustrating for me as he said I had done nothing fundamentally wrong, just he's going through a slight depression and didn't feel like he could be in a relationship at the moment as couldn't give me the support/time I wanted. Nevertheless, I still want to make a good impression on him the next time I see him so need some advice. He said he still cares about me and that it was a difficult decision as I'm good fun to be around, a laugh, positive person etc. But we haven't spoken since the split (Wednesday) which is to be expected for a break up I know. So when I next see him at induction day at uni in a couple weeks, what is the best way to make a positive impression on him? Does physical appearance play a part in showing what he's 'missed out on' and making a bit more of an effort there? Am I just civil with him conversationally and play it cool, or upbeat and bubbly (as I usually am). I don't want that to come across as if I don't care about the split, similarly don't want to look all down about it. Thanks :)
