So there is this girl I am friends with. She is a very nice person, very genuine but super sensitive to everything. She is always moaning she is not being invited to anything so I make an effort to invite her, although I can't remember a time when SHE suggested something.
A situation occurred yesterday that really ticketed me off. On Friday evening I invited her and another friend to the carnaval on Saturday in town, gave her the time and the place. Saturday morning I get a text saying she has an appointment at the previously suggested time but will be free 30min later. Fine. I told her to text me when she is done. Our town is not big at all, you can walk across the centre of it in less than 5min. My other friend and I sat at the market (on Friday I told her my plan was to go to the market). Market - 4 stalls big.
She texted me I didn't hear my phone, she texted my other friend, she didn't hear it either, it was very busy. She stood across the road from us waiting for a text. She could have crossed the road, went to the market and saw us there. Any way, 25min later I tell her where we are and she is now annoyed and says I am going home.she could have rang either of us, it's a big louder than just a text.
This ticked me off cause it's bloody annoying.
On previous nights out she would stick to me like glue. She says no one talks to her during the night out yet she makes no attempt to have a convo with people even when I start one and include her in it. She knows everyone I know, and it's not like she has nothing in common with these people.
Ok I noticed that and invited her out in a much smaller group - just us 3 girls. I made a very conscious effort to start a covnvo we could all be part of and she sat there all pissed off not really talking.
I don't know what to do any more. I can't be her supervisor on nights out cause I like talking to all my friends, I can't just sit in the corner talking only to her to make her feel happy.
I can't really give her a telling off cause I don't want to hurt her but it's becoming ridiculous.
