So me and my OH have been together for nearly four years. The last two of these years I have spent at University 2 hours away from home. She has stayed at home working full time.
My course isn't your normal university course. I am studying to be a Paramedic so there is a lot of full time uni, a lot of self directed study and on top of that 750 hours worth of shift work placement within the ambulance service so a lot of weekends and nights.
Its coming to end of the course now, I have a job interview next week and it is likely I will not be moving back home as there are no jobs that way. She has said she would like to move in with me but is still unsure.
Our relationship has been rocky for a while mainly due to us not being able to spend enough time with each other as I barely get time to go home and when she is off I am normally on shift over the weekend or sleeping due to night shifts. The other problem I have is when I am off I need to work one of the three part time jobs to be able to earn money to pay for petrol for placement which is an hour away from where I live and also pay for bills etc as like other students the loan doesn't fill the gap! I am also under a lot of stess with placement, essays and exams and as usual they all come at once.
They're all factors that have made us rocky. I would love to be able to make things work but I am worried if they don't and she moves here with me then she has nothing up here as all our friends and family and the job she loves is back home. Its a selfish decision but I have always been career minded. We're both 21 and young I just really don't know what to do for the best anymore to make sure she is happy because I know at the moment I am not making her happy.
