Me again, and my weird housemate. I feel guilty writing another thread about him, because 75% of the time he is normal...
Anyway, we are both from the same town. The journey from uni town to home town is 2 hours 30 minutes. Petrol is £17 per way, plus dartford crossing, £2 per way. Through out this year, I've given him a couple FREE lifts to and from these locations, as I was going home anyway.
This weekend, he wants to go home for mothers day/easter, as do I. I said to him, "we're gonna have to split the petrol money though". Don't forget he has had lifts the last 2 times, he looks at me with a WTF face and says, "but you're going that way anyway?". I explained to him how it costs me ~£40 to get there and back. He just says "but it makes no difference if I come or not, you're going that way anyway". I just said ok whatever, and went back to what I was doing. I don't intend to give him a lift now. A week ago, he texted me asking, "are you going home next week - if not I will book a bus ticket now".
Not only does he do annoying little things like piss on the seat, slam doors in the morning at night, randomly 'acts off', and bugs me on when I return, but now he doesn't want to split petrol costs for a 2 hour 30 min journey?
Is it right that I should give him a free lift, and save him money? Am I here for his convenience? Yeah I am going that way anyway, but what the hell can't he understand about splitting the costs? He can get the bus for all I care.
What would you do?
TY,
