| So me and my girlfriend have been dating for 5 months... we are now apart for the first proper long period and it is difficult. But what has made it more difficult is Facebook, texting and Skype. Yes, they are brilliant for keeping in touch with my girlfriend but it seems that we are now more in touch than we ever were. Everytime I am on my computer I am being spoken to constantly by every mode (sometimes by Facebook and text at the same time). I honestly don't care that she is just going to eat some toast or whatever she is doing. And when she asks me what I am doing it is normally "watching TV" or "playing a game"... there is nothing to tell. If I had my way I would go back to letters... to me they mean so much more than instant messaging. Waking up and going to the post to read about what she got up to in the last couple of days would be lovely, much better than constant updates of what she is watching on TV. Letters with the occasional phone call would be brilliant because of course I love to hear her voice. Sometimes I wonder if I could just delete Skype and my facebook and pick up a pen! Are you all with me? | |||

Instant Messaging is killing relationships.
