Should I?

Some of you will think i'm mental for asking this- but there's a question i've been soooo curious to ask my boyfriend lately. I want to ask him if, one day in his life (NOT right now!) he ever wants to become a father. If it has something he has ever envisioned. I don't even mean necessarily with me (although of course i've imagined what it would be like) I'm just really curious. I DO NOT want a child justnow, or indeed at any time within at least the next ten years. I want to establish a life and a career first. So, to re-itterate, i don't want to ask my boyfriend 'do you want to have a baby with me?' i simply want to know if he can see himself becoming a father one day. Since he's only 22 and I 18, the answer doesn't bother me right now. I'm just a very curious person. He and I, so far in our 7 month long relationship, have spoken about everything under the sun. He has even stated that he 'wants to spend the rest of his life with me' which scared me a lot, but i didn't run away. So, do you think its ok for me to ask this without scaring the c**p out of him? I don't want to scare him. And honestly, he's a very open person, isn't one to freak out easily at all.
