So I am a white female born and raised in the UK. I am seeing this guy at uni. We get along really well. He is from Iraq, but has lived in the UK since he was 10 years old.
Personally I think he is lovely! He treats me so well and I am very happy. :) However we are both getting stigma from family and friends about being together. :(
My friends are saying he is just using me for sex until he has to marry (he already has a permanent visa to stay in the UK) and that he will get bored of me. He gets hassle saying I am a dirty white girl who has no morals.
He says he is not religious and his family isn't either (not active Muslims) He eats what he wants, he drinks, he doesn't pray. He is just a human being really! I just wondered if other people had similar experiences to me and if you did how did you cope with the negativity? Or if anyone else has advice how to cope with it I would appreciate it.

Put the internet to work for you.
