How important are looks to you?

I'm a 17 year old male, and as long as I can remember I've always had very low self esteem due to my looks and social skills (although the latter is probably a result of the former. I'm both overweight and short (5'6), and I've always felt I'm facially hideous (although on an anonymous ratings thread - in which I suppose any incentive to lie is removed - I've averaged about 7/10). Anyway, I've had a pretty major crush on a girl who is intelligent, attractive and has a brilliant personality. I'm a kind of distant acquitance of her, as I've always been far too nervous to talk to her more out of fear I'll disgust her, but she normally finds me pretty funny and we have similar interests etc. Anyway, I was wondering how important looks are to any females on here? I suppose stereotypically females place less emphasis on looks than males (although I'd like to think that I would still be attracted to this girl even if she wasn't physically attractive, but obviously I'm not biased) and I was wondering if this was true at all? Would females here find that a good personality, wit or intelligence would negate physical unattractiveness? Posted from TSR Mobile
