Child won't see new cousins

I really feel bad for my child. We had a bad falling out with my brother and his wife years ago. They wrote us off and did not invite us to my nephew's wedding. Now I hear their kids are having babies. My daughter is an only child. It's hard to tell her we can't see the babies. :(
