| I'll get some of the basic details out of the way first: I'm 19, never been in a relationship before, not great looking, all the usual you'ld likely expect out of someone in my position to be fair. I've liked one other person in the past, in which I friendzoned myself horribly, and then things got super awkward after she denied me, and then I friendzoned her, and then I denied her. Never would say the "Spark" ever really hit with her though, the closest relationship-like thing we ever did was go to the cinemas. So, times have moved on, I'm in university and I have found someone else that I like, but I'm fearful that I've friendzoned myself by being too much of a nice guy. There's a girl that I've liked for a while just due to her sweet, shy and kind nature, and we've become really close friends of sorts. We've been to the cinemas a couple of times together by ourselves, we're planning to go to all sorts of places before she returns home for the summer. I deeply like her, but I have another friend, whom has gone from single to in a full blown touchy feely relationship with someone else in the space of 2-3 weeks. My question is, by being too much of a nice guy, have I already blown my chance with this person that I like? Seeing my other friend get a relationship buddy and be in advanced stages of it in such a short space of time has really demotivated my ability to get a relationship. I'm NOT a touchy-feely "Hey, let's go an have sex for the sake of it" kind of guy, I'm more about just having an emotional connection with something, kind of the older age deal. Just, when I compare the situation I'm in, compared to my friend's situation, both sides just don't seem to be doing much. The worst thing I can imagine is risking the amazing friendship that we've got together for something that is unlikely going to happen. Bleh, I know I'm ranting, I just need to understand how to make a relationship level move quicker with confidence... I always worry myself sick about losing that person because they'ld say no, and it would make things awkward. Gah. | |||
