So a girl I met through work and have been messaging, trying to get her to meet up with me and just hang out together and see how it goes as I think there is something there, has been unable to meet up a few times due to family stuff.
I havent even managed to meet her and just talk to her on a level so i dont even know what exactly is going on, but a friend who has talked to her said her mum has cancer...also some problems with her brother as she is always looking after her nieces and taking them to school etc.
Anyway, after I questioned her whether she was genuinly interested in meeting up, her EXACT words were " i have wanted to meet up with you but my family problems have messed up my social life recently. You intrigue me which does make me want to meet up with you".
Chatted to her last couple of days and she seems down again, not giving much away.
I am unsure what to do...do I just let her sort things out til she is happy and suggests to meet up? Or do I suggest (again) a day out so that she can take her mind of it and do something fun to make her smile? Or just try to meet her wherever and just talk to her and try to help her?
Im a naturally helpful person and give good advice to my friends when they need it so its hard to see her like this but not really be allowed to help. At the same time I dont want to be in the dreaded friendzone! Not sure whether she is the type to have to get to know as friends before taking it further as I havent had a chance yet...shes really closed..especially when it comes to guys, due to a previous relationship she says.
Any advice welcome!
