I'm hoping to get some advice from you TSR folk, especially if you're Muslim (male or female) and have been in a similar situation to the one I'm about to describe.
There's this girl at work who has really taken my fancy, but at the moment she has no idea that I exist. (I work for a very big company, so it's not some kind of tight-knit community where everybody knows everybody). I'd like to meet her and get to know her better, and see where it goes. As you might have guessed from the title, I'm a Muslim, so I'm not particularly interested in "dating" or "having a relationship" or any of that, and I assume the same will be true for her, because she seems quite religious. So this has to be either something which is quite clearly leading up to marriage, or nothing.
But what are am I supposed to do now? I don't think a Muslim girl is going to appreciate a me trying to flirt with her and get her number, because it will look like I'm just looking for a date or casual relationship. And I don't think any girl is going to appreciate a guy walking up to her and saying "Hi, I like you, will you marry me?", because that's creepy.
So now what? :( Has anyone got any ideas? If you're a Muslim girl yourself, in what way would you like to be approached by potentials? Or if you've been through this process of meeting someone before, how is it all supposed to work? What are the etiquettes of the initial stages of getting to know someone, in the case of Muslims? Help! :$
