I have no idea where I sit morally with this - we where together from the age of 14-17 and so throughout those years you obviously change and mature a lot. I want to know if I was overreacting and if some of the stuff going on in the relationship was actually wrong like I thought. Long story short - he was very controlling, was made to feel guilty about talking to boys, watching certain TV program's or films, I wasn't allowed social media and was not allowed to hug other boys or go to any parties. Before we broke up he seemed to lack interest in me but still wanted to control me. He would shout and raise his voice - he never had any time for me and didn't ring me on Christmas Day, I got the odd text saying 'busy win family watching a film, chat later' but I only wanted a quick 2 min phone call to wish him a happy Christmas? Then on our 2yr anniversary I made a joke about getting upset at my brother and he said 'we'll I know all to well what it's like for you to be upset with me' and then made very odd crude sexual comments which was very out of character. It was like he was allowed to do everything but if I would of dared even mention another boys name he would flip let alone make a sexual comment. I think in a relationship it is ok to talk to other boys as friends a along as you don't flirt? I never restricted him because although I might get jealous seeing him to pretty girls I didn't want him to just avoid girls - but he wanted to without me even asking?? And now were over (due to him shouting and being aggressive) he has cut off contact completely, rightly so, but acts so awkward when I'm around so if we're in the same room he will leave - but when I see him around college he always try's to get eye contact instead of just ignoring me, I don't understand. I simply smile at him when I see him but I don't understand why he is acting so awkward. I don't ever want to get back with him but I don't want to be made to feel unc omfortable when I see him because we unfortunately go to the same college - any idea why he has and is behaving so weirdly?
