My boyfriend of 10 months just told me that he has a running joke with a female acquaintance (if even) of his. It's along the lines of "if you're single, all your male friends want to sleep with you" and he keeps asking her if she slept with all her friends yet. First, I
find that incredibly distasteful and really worrisome. I don't go around and joke with people I don't really know about that. If you don't really know the other person then I find it weird to joke about sex all the time. Plus, if he plans to become friends with her (I don't know if he is) then doesn't he put himself in the same category- implying he wants to sleep with her?
I also know that he's made jokes like this to friends before- offering them to sleep with him, though he says he hasn't anymore since we started getting serious.
Now, I'm a very jealous person but I'm working very hard on it so I didn't say anything about the latest "joke". But I find it extremely disrespectful and hurtful when he behaves like that, knowing that I will most likely be jealous and don't like it. He always says "relax, it's not a big deal" and he loves me and wants to be with me blah blah blah. And he says he doesn't find jealousy attractive in me so there wouldn't be a point provoking it on purpose.
We keep fighting because I'm jealous and it makes me feel bad because he hasn't really given me a reason to be jealous (as in: he hasn't DONE anything, he's said plenty) but at the same time I just don't think that is a behavior a boyfriend should have when he's in a serious relationship.
Am I overreacting? What do I tell him?
