Looks really are everything

Personality only helps but you reach a limit and the better looking people with personalities become better than you. They earn my money, get more sex and enjoy life to its fullest. Human life is so common you should feel cheated if you're not born attractive. Waste of life really. Ok so I'm talking about job interviews with large companies. If you're ugly but try and compensate with your personality this can only take you so far. Someone better will get the job or be promoted quicker than you will. They will find a wife quicker and have a family quicker than you too and with less effort. This is important because if you want a promotion in a multinational company then you must find a wife and start a family. If you don't people will question you and your boss will question your ability by thinking 'if he can't handle family' then how could he handle promotion.

And please don't say 'you don't need a familty to progress in your career.' I'm sorry but this is utterly wrong. Career and family are tightly related. If you're invited to a convention and you turn up by yourself people will question your personal life. You often end up saying 'At this point in my life, I'm not looking for a family' - How long can you say this for? What about the other 1000 guys behind you who have family. They are seen as better than you. Why do you think David Cameron has his wife stand by him in every photo of him. It's because people want continuity. His wife wears something pretty and it's very mechanical and rehearsed. if you're by yourself then this raises more questions you have to lie your way out of which increases your stress. Don't think good grades are everything because they are not. The full package is required to do well in this life. Sure, you may have a first from a good uni but then you end up living in a flat above a shopping mall because you can't afford anything else as you're SINGLE/can't get promotion because of it.

A family unit is what many CEOs want and desire. The picture of kids and wife on an office desk. If you don't have this then you'll be scrutinized and another guy that does will take your place for promotion. Say you've left uni with a 2:1 and you're seeking employment to a multi national company. There will be millions of others in the same position as you. You're now branded as the '2:1 guy/girl'. Your task is to represent the company at conventions etc. If you don't have a family in tow then people will question your motif which will negative reflect upon the company..As a 2:1 guy/girl you're role is to look as attractive as you can. Companies employ two different types of people. The firsts - COEs don't care if you sit in the laboratory pondering over a quark quandary. You meet an ugly geeky opposite who you will fall in love with and have geeky children together etc. Sure you're ugly and you're not expected to represent the company at conventions/exibitions etc.

If you're a 2:1 however, you must have a cracking personality and fit he part. You're expected to handle company conventions etc. Look your best, be the role model of how the perfect life should be.

However getting married is risky because if it ends in divorce and you mention divorce in the workplace. Alarm bells go off in your bosses head and he thinks Divorce = Lower productivity and motivation = No chance for promotion. Divorce pretty much ruins your career as well.

If you think grades are all that is required to earn lots of money then you're mistaken. A mixture of personality, looks and intelligence are required if you want to do well. I know many people who left uni with a first and end up living alone in a small house/flat by themselves. People who aren't as intelligent own £1,000,000+ cottages on Canadian lakes, have the perfect family which comprises 1 boy and 1 girl and a wife that goes into her husband's office to give him cookies.
