What do i do

Right.... So I was with my girlfriend for nearly a year and we recently split up a couple of weeks back after a big argument and we both though it would be best to just end it and stay friends. All seemed ok. However, I recently found out one of my really close friends who I trust with anything started talking to her just after we broke up which was kind of weird that he waited until then. I spoke to my ex and she showed me stuff he had been saying to her all flirty things and stuff he shouldn't be saying because he himself is in a relationship. Right, I just don't know what to do because as a close friend I would have thought he would not try and get really close with my ex behind my back straight after we broke up without telling me and all the flirting and basically sending things and saying things he shouldn't when he is in a relationship himself. I just don't know what to do. He had been acting really weird the past week and I knew something was up and he was trying to hide something from me. I just think I should confront him about it but its just messing with my head so much.
