Context: I really like this girl at work, and a few of my colleagues and I think the attraction may be mutual (indeed, I've been informed that she admitted to liking me a few weeks ago, but that she's too shy to say anything, as am I). We used to text/flirt with each other a lot, but since she's been moved to a different section, we hardly speak to one another anymore, although I always initiate texts with her, and my attraction to her is still very strong. She's on paid holiday for the next two weeks, and admitted to me last week that she has nothing to do and will be extremely bored. So today I decided to take the plunge and asked her if she wanted to do something when we're both free, essentially asking her out. Her reply: 'I'll let you know if I'm free'. Now, I don't know if I'm being paranoid or not, but it sounds like she's not interested at all; if she had said, 'Yeah sure, I'll let you know if I'm free', then I would know that she was enthusiastic about meeting up with me, but was just unsure about the timing of it all. But because she had told me prior that she was free for the next two weeks, it just sounds like to me that she's not interested anymore. Is she worth pursuing? Or should I take this as a sign and avoid any further self-humiliation? | |||
