I'm a 24 year old girl, who's moved to another country, and is trying to make friends. I feel like my personality must be boring, or I must seem weird or something, because I have had so many instances where I've tried to invite people to do things and they just don't reply, or they never speak to me unless I speak to them first.
I made friends with a guy at work; he seemed one of the friendliest. We talk on fb and we recently met up (we no longer work together). I suggested meeting and he agreed, and he's perfectly friendly, but the thing is, he just never talks to me or suggests anything unless I do first. He once didn't reply to me for 2 months, and I had no idea why. I messaged asking if everything was ok, and he just said he was bad at replying, but he literally never initiates a conversation.
Next, there is a girl who I met here about 2 years ago, and she was really nice to me. I last saw her when we went for a drink about 2 years ago, and we spoke a little on facebook since then but that was it. I saw her by chance on a bus recently and we got chatting. I later messaged her saying we should go for a drink or something, and she said that would be good. I asked her to let me know when she would be free and even proposed a day but she just never got back to me.
Finally, this is a girl who my boyfriend knows, who's also dating his best friend. She's acted a little strange, as in the 3 years I've known her, she's ignored me a few times on fb, and once I texted her saying get well soon, when I'd heard she was ill, and she never replied.
She has sometimes invited us to hang out and she's friendly in person, so I don't get it. She even asked me if I'd like to do a sport with her. I then found a good yoga club and told her about it. She said she wanted to go, I offered to go with her and she said shed like that.
She recently asked me when we could go, and I said the following week would be good. Since then, I've texted her a couple of times trying to find out, and she's just not even replied or mentioned anything about it.
Ive just got no idea what I might be doing wrong, but it's very hard because I don't have many friends and I'd love to make more. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? Thanks in advance
