Asked out a girl, she said she doesn't feel the same way

  • Thread Starter

So I met this girl abroad a couple weeks ago. She lives in that country, but we swapped numbers and have been chatting since. We've had some good conversations, and I thought she had some sort of interest in me because of certain 'signs' like using loads of exclamation marks, lots of long "haha's", and adding extra letters to words (hey -> heyyyy).

Anyway, I kinda wanted to ask since I met her, so yesterday I finally did it, and I asked her out. Before actually asking her, I asked her some other questions, and she told me that she had tried a long-distance relationship before but it didn't go well - she said it just isn't the same. So I asked her if she would try it again and she said "i don't know maybe someday but right now i don't think so".

I then asked "not even with me?", to which she said "we hardly know each other", "i prefer to get to know someone before going out with them". So I said that's no problem, let's get to know each other, and she replied "I was referring to getting to know them in person".

I then told her that I didn't want to force anything on her or make her uncomfortable, and that i know long-distance relationships are hard but i'm willing to try and make it work with her. I said I wanted to tell her how I feel and if she feels the same way either now or in the future she could tell me.

She then said she feels this is a little rushed and she doesn't want anything right now. Then she said she doesn't feel the same way.

I don't know what I should do. You guys are probably gonna say move on, let her go etc, but i really don't want to do that if possible. Do you think she would/could change her mind, either now or in the future. Is there anything I can do?

And thanks for reading this whole thing...
