What the wife does to get out of sex

My wife just doesn't want to have sex with me anymore, that isn't what she says but those are the actions she is showing me. I have asked her about it and she told me it was because I didn't do certain things for her enough to turn her on. So I started rubbing her back, feet, and doing more around the house because that is what she said would get her in the mood. All it has turned into is her saying thank you and still saying she is too tired or some other excuse. We got married agreeing having kids just wasn't for us. She is an animal lover and continues to bring animals (dogs & cats) home from the shelters. We have 8 animals in our house now because if we can't find a home for them right away she can't bear to give them up. Countless times I have tried to be romantic with her and she would push me away in order to cuddle/watch TV with one of them. I try and talk to her about it and all she says is when (insert fluffy friend here) is gone, I will be glad she gave them some attention instead of me. Even when things are going smoothly and it seems like I am getting somewhere she will say she is tired and to wait until the weekend. When it is finally the weekend she wakes up in a bad mood and rips me a new one for whatever little thing she can get angry about. I just don't know what to do. I have tired talking to her and all that happens is she cries and doesn't want to talk about it. We have gone to consoling but all that turned into was her yelling at me and saying I misremembered how things really happened.
