Overthinking clearly but can't help

There is this guy who seems to like me, as he always tells me he REALLY REALLY likes me. So we talked not long ago, and we've been telling each other our lives.....story lines, and whilst telling his story he said he was lucky to meet this girl who inspires and supports him (I knew it wasn't me he was talking about) and then he said he met a very lovely girl to whom he is talking now (ME). At first I didn't mind...of course he knew that girl longer, and they are great friends... He also said he is afraid that I might not like him or think I think of him as friend only. I said I do like him...anyways we were talking and I asked him about his plans, and for no reason whatsoever he showed me a photo of him and that girl?!! And he asked me if I didn't like her...and before he asked me that question I didn't mind her, but now I start to wonder why he talks about her excessively? Like my question was not even answered. And what the hell does 'lovely' supposed to mean? Isn't it's just another way of saying NICE...which is a horrible compliment to make to someone you so apparently attached?! I get many lovelies into my direction, how does that make him different from anyone else that calls me that? Anyways I am not sure if I am crazy, I might be lol:$
