Recently I've been struggling with how I feel about this girl I know. I'm a second year university student, and last year I was introduced to her by my current housemate as they are course-mates (my housemate is male on a predominantly female course). I got to know others on their course and became friends with a quite a few, however I never really spoke to her that much.
This year some of them live together with a friend of mine who lived with one of the girls first year, as well as a few other people I know. Quite often my house and theirs go out together, especially as my friend who lives there is the only guy in the house. One night, he texts me late on asking if I want to go out with him and some of the girls, so we pre-drink at his and at the club me and the girl get together, stay later than the everyone else and then eventually go back to hers.
A couple of days later I text her to arrange for a drink together. It goes really well, and then I was out with her house (minus her) afterwards anyway. The day after I say to her 'thanks for the drink etc.' and if she wants to do it again, to which she replies yeah but only as friends, which left me pretty gutted.
Weeks later and we're out on the same night together with her house, and then once we've got back I stayed with her and chatted downstairs whilst her housemates went to bed. She explains that she didn't really mean what she text me after drinks, but she didn't know what she wanted having just got out of a 3 year relationship. After this I stayed at hers, but I've not spoke to her since and won't see her until after Christmas, where we will probably going out again on a night out.
I don't whether to try and talk to her over Christmas and risk putting her off, or wait until the next time we're both drunk and just tell her how I feel. The problem is, if it goes wrong I could end up losing some of her house as friends and it being awkward (especially as one of them is on my course). But this girl is my ideal type, and is ridiculously hot, meaning I would be punching way out of my league with her seeing as I'm a pretty average guy.
