Freelance Writing

So, bough I have a job as a receptionist, my partner and I are still looking for ways to help increase income so we can start living rather than existing. After doing some editing for family and friends on University essays and the like, and seeing their subsequent marks soaring up to 15% or more I thought I would look into editing as a freelancer.

I got excited and started applying for companies online that I thought would get me to the right places for work. Within 24 hrs I received my first "we would like to arrange an interview," email. At first I was bouncing off the walls with joy. Then I remembered that people can get easily scammed. I have been scammed a few times already in recent weeks for unrelated ventures and I do not want to repeat those experiences.

Well, I looked through the better business bureau site, and found nothing regarding these companies. I googled but to little result because I am not used to researching this way. I know that some of you do thi6y043b3os for a living, so I wanted to ask a few questions before the interview Friday.

1. What should I be looking for if the company is legit?

2. Can anyone help me find info on this company? (academicwritersonline.com is the company that wants to interview me.)

3. Best sites to look for freelance editing work?

Don't mind the mistakes, I am on my phone. :)
