Quick backstory. My boyfriend and i have have been together for 2 years, and we couldn't be more opposite.
He's twice my age - I'm 28, he's 56. I'm black, he's white. I was raised Christian, and he was raised Jewish. I'm just starting my career, so I'm not successful, he's very successful. And did I say we're gay!
Also, he was married to a woman before up until he was 30 and has 3 kids who are my age.
So when I hang out with his family it's so awkward and I can never be comfortable. I get so nervous that I have trouble speaking. It's like I overthink about what comes out of my mouth around them. Then I struggle to find thinks to talk about with them. We don't have any of the same interest or hobbies. I was so happy when "Big Brother" was onair, because that was something I could talk about with them.
On the flip side, my boyfriend seems very comfortable with my family and they love him. Whenever we hang out with my family, we all have good time - everyone's loud and laughing.
I just wanna know if anybody else has felt like this around their SO's family and if you have any advice.
