Did I put this girl off by being too casual?

  • Thread Starter

Okay so me and this girl agreed to go on a date a few times, didn't happen twice and she mentioned one of the times that she thought I didn't seem too bothered by that. Date happened the third time around and she drove 2 hours to come and see me.

It was quite late so all we could do was catch a film. I made her laugh a lot, made sure to ask her a lot of questions about herself, edged closer to her in the cinema (body language was very open to her) she seemed to reciprocate - definitely didn't seem uncomfortable. I even offered to give her my jacket when she was cold which she accepted. When we got outside, I put my arm around her and as I left, I gave her a kiss on the cheek - I felt it went pretty good!

So she texted me when she got home at 1:40AM saying "I'm home!! :)" and "Thank you again I had a lovely time xx"

Now I didn't want to seem desperate so I ended up replying like 16 hours later and I said "Haha, fell asleep. Yeah, had a great time too! Let's do it again, only I'll travel this time. Next Friday?" and she hasn't replied for 2-3 days.

Somebody pointed out to me that I should have solidfied my interest by replying when she said she got home to keep it going, said it was silly not to considering we had a good date, she drove two hours, I told her to text me when she get's home then I never reply!

Now, it could be that she's just not interested but I feel it went really well and I'd love to put in a little more effort to see if it WAS that which made her not reply. I was thinking of taking a softer, more direct approach and text her something like:

"Hey ! So about another date? By the way, I'm sorry I took so long to reply when you said you were home. I thought you were gorgeous (just didn't say it!) and I genuinely had a good time, I'd really like to see you again. Let me know and it's alright to say no!"

I know it might seem a bit sad but I've literally made zero effort with her thus far where as she's made loads so I kind of wanna up front signal that I'm definitely interested and that I feel kind of bad about being slack. How does that sound? Any insight?

Thanks guys.

(if you're wondering why I'm bothered enough to make this thread, been on loads of dates, not clicked with anybody... really clicked with this one and she's just my type, feel silly about how i've handled it!)
