I talked to my ex because he asked me how I was doing and I told him I haven't been sleeping. He got into his rant about how he cares about me and it's his responsibility to take care of me because he failed at taking care of someone else he cared about. I told him that wasn't his fault because it was out of his control and that I'm not his to be responsible for and take care of. I asked him if he had a chance to be happy, he said yeah. Knowing his happiness isn't with me and wanting him to be happy, I told him to go get his happiness. He said he couldn't talk anymore and that was it.
