My boyfriend and I have been together just over a year and a half now. Things were perfect until he had to move countries (from Northern Ireland to England) to work about 8 months ago. I'll be going to a University over there come September so we know this is only a temporary situation.
We're coping pretty well with every aspect of a long distance relationship apart from communication, as in I would talk and try and flirt with him or say cute things couples do and it seems like he always just brushes off the comments like they don't mean anything. He rarely ever would be the first to say anything cute or flirty like that. I've spoke to him about it before and he said he doesn't know why he doesn't. He's impossible to read sometimes and finds it hard expressing his own feelings. It gets very frustrating.
When we visit each other everything is great, but when we leave again it's back to the way it always is when we're apart. At first it didn't bother me as much but now it's really starting to get to me, our conversations feel empty sometimes. I know he loves me, and I know he's not with anyone else but how do I get him to understand I need to feel something again!
