I know this is bad, but I checked my boyfriend's phone the other week. I'm not entirely sure why I did it because there had been no major reason for me to do this. I've never suspected him of cheating on me. I guess I just wondered if he had any female friends who were trying it on with him.
There is one woman in particular, a workmate of his, who clearly fancies him. Every time I see them together she's always flirting with him- even though she knows we're together. She's one of those girls who will stop at nothing to get some attention.
Anyway, when I checked his texts, low and behold, I found texts from this woman. Nothing indicating that anything is going on as such, but some very flirtatious behaviour on her part. She sent him some pictures of a tattoo she'd just had done on her arm, was giving him lots of 'xxxxx's at the end of each text and was generally being very coy and flirty. He was neither stopping or encouraging this behaviour. The fact that he was allowing it to happen bothers me greatly.
Maybe i'm just being paranoid and jealous, or even insecure. But it really bothers me and I don't know what to do. He has no idea I checked his phone and I intend to keep it that way, because I know mistrust can destroy otherwise healthy relationships. And our relationship is great apart from that. P.s, we're also long distance, so that doesn't make it any easier- I know he sees her all the time at work, but only sees me every 3/4 weeks :( what should I do?
