I'm probably the least affectionate person I know. It just isn't in my nature. Neither of my parents were affectionate towards me growing up, it's only recently my family have become more affectionate. I have no problem hugging or kissing someone but it will more than likely initiated by them.
I like when potential partners are affectionate towards me cos once I get more comfortable it really starts to help me be more affectionate. It has been a problem where a guy has needed more affection than I could provide. I tried but again it isn't in my nature. Then I dated a guy that was over affectionate and felt the need to kiss me every two seconds literally!
I have a new love interest. He isn't affectionate, but he is very caring in other ways. We are quite similar in our ways which concerns me a little. I would love someone to help bring me out my shell. I'm worried us being the similar won't allow this to happen. He doesn't really compliment either, I'll make the effort if I like what he's wearing or whatever but he never does.
Is anyone else not affectionate and in a relationship with someone similar?? Should this even be an issue?
