Confused

Hey there :) Well, basically, the thing is that i'm an international student studying here in the UK. I fall in love with an English guy and now it's been for almost a year. At first, he seemed very interested in me and we went out a few times (not just two of us but quite a few people as well) and nothing happenned. I mean, we were just chatting and started to know each other. We went to some uni activities together which I thought was good. After that, when the proper studies had started, i saw him very rarely. We texted each other a few times as well. I'm not going to write down every single thing we had together, but i can just say that i felt something between us. The problem is that he doesn't reply to my messages on FB quite often. When i asked him for the first time whether he saw them he told me that he is is not good friends with FB so he would like to chat in person. Now that there was a summer break from uni, he didn't reply to some of my messages. I do not want to sound obtrude to him and write hundreds of messages everyday but i just want to understand whether all this chemistry at uni was real? did he tell me the truth about not using FB that often? And second problem is that we didn't see each other a lot during last year so i wanted a bit of advice how could i make this situation any better this year. I tried to catch up with him about this uni stuff but i want him to do some steps as well! btw, it was HE who proposed to do them together! sorry for a lot of words and any kind of advice would be much appreciated :D
