| I work for a pub chain. The managers treat some of us like rubbish, and have clear favouritism when they choose who gets the most shifts, the best shifts, etc. A few of the managers make really insulting and rude comments to me (not just me, others too) and one eventually ended up making me cry in front of customers, as well as writing stuff about me on facebook where I could plainly see it. As well as that, there's a clear divide in the staff and it's just ridiculously bitchy. It's like being around 13 year old girls constantly the amount of bitching and rumour-spreading that happens. Nobody can put their differences aside and just be nice at work, people are rude and have to make it intentionally hard for you to be in the same place as them. I don't know what to do. I'm dreading going in on shift again :( there's no point speaking to a manager about what goes on because as I said, they're half the problem, and they don't take the bitching seriously and obviously don't realise how bad it is. I shouldn't feel scared to go into work though so I don't want to put up with it any more. I was thinking about going in tonight to speak to a manager and tell them I'm quitting or ask for a pub transfer, but I don't know whether to. Obviously I need the money and can't afford to quit (been applying for other jobs for a while). If I stick this out until September though, I can transfer to a different pub in my university town. So it's hard to know what to do. Any advice anyone? | |||
