odd situation...any advice?

….So, a few months ago, I met someone where we had a really great connection and had a lot in common but we were on opposite coasts of each other so it made it a little complicated… then he made a crappy mistake and then just avoided me once I approached him about it- which was really painful that he just wouldn't talk to me.. but I gave up, and know that when men escape they usually do it for life, and so I then went on with my life. So, a few weeks ago, I get a notification that he wanted to connect on one of those sites, so after a little thought, I decided to connect to him again- which was really so random that he wanted to. I thought I would break the ice and send him a nice little email asking him how he was…So that was almost two weeks ago and no response.... So why in the world did he want to connect with me again and why in the world is he too afraid to even respond to an email? I will say this, which is going to seem weird, but in looking at his other "social pages", it looks he hasn't been the happiest person these past few months and is trying to change that.. it's just interesting… I do know that if he doesn't respond to me in the next few days, I'll probably just cut him off lol…I mean if he can't talk to me, what is the point in being connected???
