How much would you[B] PAY[/B] to vote?

How much would you PAY to vote? I guess the title says it all.... It came up on another thread, when I mentioned that pre WWII in Butler county Missouri, you had to pay a POLL TAX to vote.... My dad said that if you didn't have money, you could "work it off" doing maintenance work on the counties gravel roads....He got credit for $1.75 a day and $2.00 for the team of mules he brought....... I couldn't help but think the pooling places would be pretty empty today if it was still a requirement... the woodchuck
