How do I get to know a shy girl

Just a bit of background to this. I'm currently a first year student at university living in halls. There's a girl I've liked since December who also lives here and we're on the same course, she knows I like her cause I told her best friend when drunk and I've made an effort to really get to know her floor (we live in a tower block type halls with 5 flats per floor) and try to go on most nights out they go on as well as the usual nights I go too. I see her most weekdays and we exchange the usual student talk (course, nights out, certain individuals, alcohol etc.) but I feel we've been talking about that usual stuff for a while now and I still don't know her that well. I've been reluctant to make a move at this point cause I've had bad experiences with doing so in the past before I properly know someone.

She is pretty shy meaning so far I've had to lead all conversations and talk the most. She's given good indications (e.g. leave her friends to talk to me, through a friend said I was good looking) so I think I can make a go of it, I'm just very conscious of the fact that I still don't know her that well and she might grow impatient of waiting for me to do something.

So anyway my question is how do I get to know her better, I don't think overloading her with questions will help (might seem to interview like), I just want to reach a point where she comes out of her shell more and feels more comfortable talking to me, I just don't know how to achieve that?
