is it better to meet a bf at work/through friends or dating

what do you think is the best way to meet a boyfriend. im talking basically as a friend from like work or through friends, someone who you know. or someone from online or you meet in a club and you never really know what kind of person they are because you havent seen them around their friends. i think both have pros and cons, in work i tend to just see people as colleques and then maybe mates, but i also trust them as i know they arent weird, i know what their like around other people. h.o random guys - you never know if their lying so never know their intentions, dont really know what kind of person they are - they might be different with you than they are at work or with their mates. how do you tend to meet guys and which is most succesful
