Does this guy like me?

Okay this guy is quite shy I think. I've liked him since high school but I don't even think he's ever had a girlfriend before. We're both in our 20s. I put a photo of me and my sis on Instagram posing with a tree. He commented on it saying "Haha, what you doing?" and wanting to be a bit jokey/flirty I replied back saying "Creating the shape of a heart for you" (there was actually a heart from the way we were holding the branches). I didn't think I'd get a response, I thought it'd freak him out actually, but he replied saying "Aww yeaaahhh" What does this mean? :o I've asked him if he wants meet up for a coffee/drink a couple of times now, but he always either ignores it, or says it would be awkward as he hasn't seen me in years! (though he did admit he was tempted once but quickly changed his mind saying it would be awkward) What's my next move?
