| Are you involved in any projects within your local community and if so what? What do you get back for the time / effort you put in? Would you advice others to "get involved" in projects in their own areas? The latest project I have become involved in is to build some "wheelchair accessible" raised vegetable beds at a local community centre. I spent the best part of a rainy Sunday collecting used wooded railway sleepers from the heritage railway (they are relaying the tracks with modern concrete sleepers) and taking them to the centre ready for others to do the construction. These sleepers are about 50 kgs a peace and are over 8 feet long so I could only get 20 onto my trailer at a time but as it was only a 5 mile round trip it did not cost me too much in fuel and I think it will be worth the effort everyone is putting in once the project is complete. | |||
