Huddled in corner with babies while drunk H rants

My husband is an alcoholic. I posted earlier how a story came out that he came out with a story how he used to audition for porn so he could have sex before we were married. Well he came home after work with an 18 pack of beer. I was at work and did not know that. When I came home I could tell he was trying to pick a fight. He was saying how he could do laundry all afternoon and finish it and how I couldn't. He didn't mention I took our daughter to soccer and coached her (his job) because he was drunk and how I took kids to pre-school orientation on a sprained ankle - walking cast and all. I ignored, I don't have to prove anything. Well our little one was upset that she can't go to pre-school now. Orientation is now but it starts after summer. Not a big deal. She started to pout. My husband said if she is going to pout, it will be in her room. I intervened to try and get him to back off our daughter. He got to the door and they were struggling over it. She says her finger was pinched and he down-played it. He said it wasn't pinched. She is just 4 years old and I don't care if she is up-playing it or not. We started arguing about him leaving her alone. She was so upset she was hiccuping with tears. So then he went outside to do something, she was settled on the sofa. He comes in and starts up again telling her that next time she pouts, he will lock her in the basement. He was yelling so she blocked her ears. He tried to pick her up to lock her in basement. I wouldn't let him. He then freaked on me for not backing him up. He says next time our kids treat me poorly, he will not have my back. I'm sorry - I'm all for a united front but not at the expense of abuse. Thankfully, he's passed out. Is there any hope? I have read on these forums and suspect borderline personality disorder. Am I out of line? I think he was abusive. Been involved in this so long I'm so effed up and I don't know what's what anymore. I'm not on his side I freely admit, but I think he's a bully and abusive.
